ARIA Winner, Best Use of an Australian Recording over 2 minutes, 2023 (the first ever!)
In our age of environmental crisis, people have switched off to bad news. To turn apathy into action we wrote the national anthem of the ocean with Aussie icon, John Williamson, recruiting the next generation of ocean protectors. Far more than a song, we launched in school concerts around the country with sheet music, dance moves and lessons from marine biologists. Today it is part of the national syllabus and a published Penguin children’s book launching in January.
An animated lyric film taught students about all the issues under the sea, before schools performed the song at end-of-year concerts all around Australia.
Schools & parents could download the education kit complete with sheet music, lesson plans, certificates - and even book a lesson with a marine biologist.
