There’s nothing Aussies love more than a comeback story.
To celebrate Allianz’ partnership with Football Australia, we told one filled with grit, glory and the most epic of metaphors. Directed by Oscar nominated director Michael Gracey and set to Sia’s Unstoppable, ‘Adrift’ features Matildas star midfielder, Amy Sayer, who returned to the national team after an ACL injury kept her off the field for 457 days. A celebration of her resilience, tenacity and the care around her got her back to the pitch.
Launched in time for the AFC Women’s Asia Cup - where the Tillies broke the 70K attendance records making it to the grand final.
A big metaphor needs a huge set
The majority of this film was shot in camera and captured in a real water tank. We built practical sets, with 4 versions of the pontoon, body doubles and, of course, wave and rain machines.
