Voice of the Sea
The ARIA award winning National Anthem of the Ocean
It’s no new news that the ocean is in crisis. The problem is, the ocean has no voice.
We needed the next “Home among the gumtrees” or “Rip Rip Woodchip” to create an intergenerational rally cry. Together with Australian country music icon, John Williamson, we created the unrequited love song of the sea sung by children around the country.
Working with the Australian Government, we launched in school concerts with sheet music, dance moves and lessons from marine biologists. Today Voice of the Sea is part of the national science curriculum and has been published as a Penguin children’s book.
From coral bleaching to climate change, poaching to pollution, Voice of the Sea unpacked all the issues faced by the oceans, turning lyrics into lessons.

A tune that transformed into a movement
We launched at end of year school concerts with over 50 schools, providing sheet music, dance moves, class certificates & lesson plans.
Today, it’s part of the national school syllabus …
After working with the Australian Department of Education to launch the song in schools, AMCS was approached to turn lyrics into lesson modules now part of the primary school syllabus in every school across the country.
…and a Penguin Children’s book
After the success of Voice of the Sea in captivating children and families, we were approached by publishing icon, Penguin, to create a bed time story using our lyrics and illustrations.
